Can not move/scale photos

I love being able to place toppings where & how many I want. But I cant scale or move my background to fit the way I want. Let alone it crops my photo automatically. I have a photo with 3 people but it auto zooms & crops so the center person is only there. & it wont let me move or scale the photo to fix it so all 3 people are visible...
